With the goal of accelerating the rate of innovation in industry, UA offers students the opportunity to earn two graduate degrees concurrently: an MBA from the Eller College of Management plus a Master's degree from Optical Sciences. The program serves professionals who have been actively working in optics for at least three years. MS + MBA graduates will be uniquely prepared for leadership or entrepreneurship and will re-enter the competitive world with a powerful advantage.

Summary of Requirements
Course Requirements: The Optical Sciences’ Dual Degree MS student must complete 35 units of coursework with grades of B or higher. Of the 35 required units, 26 units are optics coursework and labs. In addition, during the summer semesters the student must complete 3 units of Master’s Report. In addition to the 29 required optics units, two MBA courses (6 units) will be considered transfer units for a total of 35 units.
Dual Degree MS Optics Suggested Curriculum
Plan of Study: Students are required to complete two MS Plans of Study, one for each Master’s Program. The Plan of Study must be submitted during the fall semester of the second year of the program.
For the MS Optical Sciences Plan of Study, students will include 6 units of MBA coursework with grades of B or higher (two 3 unit courses) in addition to the required optics courses for a total of 35 units. Note: 17 units may be double dipped toward meeting the dual degree requirements. Students must submit to both Optical Sciences and Eller a copy of both Plans of Study.
Final Examination: The final exam will consist of an oral presentation based primarily on the MBA summer project and the Master's Report.
