The Jack D. Gaskill
Endowed Scholarship Award

Jack's Legacy

In 1999, Optical Sciences Professor Jack D. Gaskill commemorated his retirement from teaching by contributing a very generous leadership gift to endow an undergraduate student Scholarship in Optical Sciences.  For twenty years, Dr. Gaskill was the Associate Director for Academic Affairs at Optical Sciences, where he played a key role in shaping the graduate curriculum, starting the undergraduate program, recruiting students, and mentoring students as they pursued their degree in Optical Sciences.  Optical Sciences alumni joined Dr. Gaskill in the spirit of the endowment and contributed generously to the fund.

To Participate

Because the cost of education will continue to rise, we would like to keep the scholarship campaign open, perhaps with the goal of increasing the scholarship award when necessary.  For more information, or to make a contribution, please contact Ms. Barbara Myers in our Academic Programs Office by e-mail at bmyers@u.arizona.edu or by telephone at 520-621-8418.

Thank You

Dr. Gaskill, alumni and friends, thank you for your generosity.  Your donations ensure that a promising student will have the resources to complete a baccalaureate degree at Optical Sciences and that the great tradition of Optical Sciences will continue for years to come.
