Research

General research occurs in the fields of image science with the current emphasis being on medical imaging.  Specific topics of interest are:

  • Task based assessment of image quality for both tumor detection and parameter estimation tasks

  • Understanding the statistical characteristics of images and the the objects being imaged

  • Imaging hardware optimization

  • Human-observer models for image analysis
