3D Thermal Code

Temperature analysis due to laser heating is important in optical recording, because temperature distribution inside the medium such like phase-change disk or MO disk is a critical factor for the stability of recorded mark. Thus the medium should be designed to release the heat absorbed by laser. This is the aim of my research.
The
below figures show an example of temperature anaysis for 5 layer structure medium with
each thickness 20 mm.
The first row of the figures is the absorbed laser pulse power with width 50 ns by the
medium when the medium is rotating at the linear velocity 6 m/s. The second row is the
correspondent temperature distribution, which is found by solving heat conduction equation
using finite difference method.
