Senior Optical Design Engineer. Lightfleet
Corporation. Lightfleet Corporation is an emerging
early staged company located in a suburb of Portland, OR
that has invented the world’s first free-space broadcast
optical interconnect. This patented technology is unique in
that it uses broadcast light to simultaneously and
continuously interconnect multiple nodes so that all nodes
can see all of the data all of the time. Not only does
this breakthrough technology generate a significant boost in
high performance computing but it costs far less to operate
than any comparable system while using considerably less
energy as well. Simply put, Lightfleet has created a
new way for computers to communicate using light instead of
wires. Our first product is 1/3 the size and uses 1/3 the
electricity of anything else in the world. We make light
work. In the May issue of the Oregon Business magazine,
Lightfleet was identified as a local company that “will
change the world.” Earlier in the year, Gartner named
Lightfleet one of their “Cool Vendors” to watch in 2007. In
March, Business Wire magazine called Lightfleet’s
breakthrough technology “one of the most significant
advancements in system-level technology in many years.”
Earlier in March of this year, the Wall Street Journal broke
the news of Lightfleet’s technology. Since then, over 80
articles have been written about Lightfleet world wide. As
we continue to grow we are actively looking for a Sr.
