Research Paper
Criteria:
The research paper for this class is to be written on some topic in the field of optics.  It can be of historical, sociological, economical, or technical interest.  The only criteria is that it covers some aspect of optics or light.

The paper is to be:
    Written electronically (on a word-processor) or typed.  No handwriting.
    Double-spaced.
    5 pages in length.
    Cite your sources within your text, and include a Reference Page at the end of the paper (page 6).
    Print out your papers, and turn them in during class.

DUE DATE:    (Thursday class, sec. 8) Start of Class --Nov. 4, 2004
                       (Friday class, sec. 9) Start of Class --Nov. 5 , 2004

LATE PENALTY:  Papers turned in after this, but before the following week's class, Nov. 11/12, 2004 will be penalized 30%.  Papers turned in after that will be penalized 50%.

HOMEWORK: Come up with 3 potential topics of your own (you may choose one from this list as well).  List them as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for your presentation.  I'll critique them and reply so you can get started researching and writing!
