Facilities

Mr. Hector Garcia is the general maintenance mechanic and facilities coordinator at the College of Optical Sciences. Please contact Hector directly via e-mail at maintenance@optics.arizona.edu. Hector's responsibilities include assistance with planning and coordinating office moves, laboratory moves, sending files to storage, delivery of equipment and supplies, and other special requirements not covered by the University of Arizona Department of Facilities Management.

Faculty, staff and students with potential exposure to lasers and hazardous materials should contact Hector or the university Department of Risk Management and Safety to discuss training requirements. 

UA Facilities

The University of Arizona Department of Facilities Management provides custodial services to OSC. Custodians' responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning classrooms, meeting rooms and offices
  • Cleaning public areas and restrooms
  • Carpet cleaning
  • Floor refinishing
  • Pest control (on request)
  • Recycled paper removal
  • Spill cleanup
  • Trash removal (interior)
  • Water removal

Emergency services are available through Facilities Management by calling 621-3000. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
