Job ID: Fiber Optic Design Engineer
Position Summary:
We are looking for an engineer with fiber optics experience. The engineer will participate in the development of vibration sensors for security applications using fiber optic technology.
Responsibilities:
• Electrical / Optical circuit, system design, simulation & verification
• Fusion Splicing, OTDR Testing, Fiber Characterization
• Developing and executing plans for investigating and resolving system and sensor level issues
• Clearly communicating progress and status of ongoing investigations
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineer/ Optics/ Applied Physics
• Understanding of high performance fiber optics
• Experience with laser circuitry and knowledge of relay backscattering
• 3 – 5 years experience working with fiber optic systems
• Able to break down complex problems with limited data to come to solutions – strong critical thinking capability.
• Able to interface with multidisciplinary groups and work effectively in a team and be willing to take on responsibility, follow through and keep multiple simultaneous assignments on schedule.
• Able to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation and on-the-job training and be capable of thoroughly investigating technical issues (analytically and hands-on in a lab).
