LED Test Engineering

POSITION OVERVIEW
Illumitex, is a fast growing LEDs fixture company, with innovative designs for the general illumination market, and a leadership position in horticulture lighting. With its patented LED package technology, Illumitex offers a unique combination of beam control and a wide range of spectra. Illumitex is looking for a Test Engineering, reporting to the VP Operations. The applicant is responsible for all aspects of its LED and fixture testing, including optical, electrical and thermal characterizations, as well as reliability testing. The engineering will be responsible for maintaining test program integrity on the manufacturing floor, calibration, monitoring, maintenance of test equipment, creation and monitoring of binning methodologies, data collection, and analysis. We are looking for a high energy individual contributor with good teamwork and communication skills.

The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience of opto-electronic testing, but recent graduates are welcome to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain all packaged LED test systems and procedures
• Maintain test equipment through Statistical Process Control techniques
• Ensure proper calibration of integrating sphere through NIST traceable light source
• Gage R&R and MSA analysis of test equipment
• I-V-L characterization of new products and LED packages
• LM80, OpLife testing for LEDs
• Ensure proper calibration of goniometer through NIST traceable light source
• Create IES reports for new fixtures using goniometer
• Design and execute all Reliability testing on all new and derivative packaged LED products
• Collect, analyze and report all test data, working closely with Engineering and Quality directors
• Maintain and publish complete documentation of all test and calibration procedures

QUALIFICATIONS
• 0-5+ years experience in packaged LED testing is required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in EE/Optics/Physics or related field.
• Able to create and maintain test equipment calibration
• Proven strengths in optical, thermal, mechanical and electrical testing
• Strong analytical and data communication skills
• Should understand applied statistical methods like DOE, SPC, MSA, GR&R, etc
• Coding or Scripting skills are preferred
• Works efficiently and effectively in a team environment
