Optical Design Engineer | CoAdna Photonics, Inc.

This Optical Design Engineer will be instrumental in CoAdna’s engineering team in terms of providing insights and innovative concept of product design to meet market needs and customer requirements. He/she will be able to perform product performance simulations, execute thorough product analysis, and lead junior team members to resolve product issues.

Job duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide optical design and conduct optical design related simulations to analyze the product feasibility and performance expectations
• Participate as a core member in defining industrial trends and bringing in new technology concepts to address the new market trends
• Support to debug and resolve optical performance related issues in various product development phases
• Engage with customers and cross-functional teams to fully define product performance specs

Minimum Required Competencies:

• Master/Ph.D. degree in optics, physics, materials science, or equivalent
• Min 4 years of experiences in fiber optics, liquid crystals or related industry
• Demonstrated analytic and problem-solving abilities
• Experiences in optical design and using Zemax optical design software are preferred
• Basic knowledge and understanding of liquid crystal based devices and optical network systems and optical material properties is a plus
• Experiences in the use of optical test equipment is a plus
• Knowledge in optical testing is a plus
• Good data analysis and presentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak, read, and write in Chinese is highly preferred
