Job Description: 

Ember Inc. is a startup company focused on building the first
consumer-focused high quality virtual reality experiences. We've found
a way to create amazingly life-like virtual reality that is years
ahead of the current state of the art. While we haven't publicly
announced our technology yet, our team consists of highest quality
engineers in electronics, optics, and manufacturing, along with 3
co-founders who have successfully sold previous ventures. Our mission
is to change the very nature of human experience for the better--come
build the future with us!

You are an optical design engineer who is eager to tackle a variety of
novel and pragmatic optical architectures. You will work closely with
a cross-functional team to bring our first product (a head mounted
display) from prototype to production. Your role may start as an
internship or a contract position, but with the option of
transitioning into the key role of leading the optical engineering for
our current and future headsets.


Extensive experience in one or more of the following:

Freeform optics
Lens design
Head mounted displays
Augmented / virtual reality
Diffractive and holographic devices
Zemax expertise
