HGH USA is currently looking for an Optical Engineer who will be responsible for the electro-optical design of new and improved products to replace older designs and difficult to manufacture products. This individual will also be responsible for the technical support of mature electro-optical products that are currently on order or in house for repair. The engineering function encompasses research, design, development and test of electro-optical assemblies from component to system level. This is a great opportunity for someone who is up for the challenge of creating new product lines to a high level of technical excellence that meet or exceed project requirements and constraints.


  • Evaluate electro-optical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of optics, electricity and materials
  • Confirm system and component capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties and testing procedures
  • Develop electro-optical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
  • Design electro-optical testing methods to ensure product quality; test finished products and system capabilities
  • Prepare electro-optical system reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provide, improve and update product documentation and procedures for each product
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, etc.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering or similar
  • Capable of maintaining a clean, organized and safe working environment
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency and results orientated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Aptitude to work collaboratively and drive consensus and alignment within and across organizational boundaries
