Job Description: 

The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology is a broad and interdisciplinary basic science department in the School of Medicine at UNC-CH. As a top-ranked, nationally-recognized leader in basic science research, our faculty and staff are engaged in innovative and cutting edge research in many areas including neuroscience and imaging. This position is in the laboratory of Dr. Spencer Smith, which is also part of the UNC Neuroscience Center.

The individual who fills this optical engineer position will be working specifically on the Nemonic (NExt generation MultiphOton NeuroImaging Consortium) project to develop and widely disseminate state-of-the-art technology for multiphoton imaging and associated techniques for the neuroscience community, and to advance emerging technology for future innovation in multiphoton neuroimaging. Ultimately, the activities of the Nemonic project will enable new experiments and accelerate discoveries in neuroscience.

This position reports directly to the PI, Spencer Smith.
