JOB DESCRIPTION: OPTICAL DESIGN
INTRODUCTION
ASML is seeking an Optical Engineer / Physicist in the Optical Modules Development Group US to work in designing and testing of optical modules.
JOB MISSION
JOB DESCRIPTION
The main focus of this position will be:
o Working on programs for the development of optical imaging and sensing systems.
o Deriving lower level requirements for individual optical components, detectors and sources;
o Generating models and simulations to analyze expected performance characteristics.
o Laboratory testing of component and modules.
o Organizing data and documenting results.
EDUCATION
Minimum BS in Optical Engineering, or Physics with an emphasis in optics.
EXPERIENCE:
o Candidate should have direct experience in working with and testing of optical systems and components.
o Candidate will work with designers from supporting engineering disciplines in order to evaluate optical designs and components.
PERSONAL SKILLS
Candidate must:
o Have strong written and oral communicative skills and a commitment to achieving results on time;
o Demonstrated “team player” with a quality orientation and interpersonal skills;
o Have competencies in: geometric/diffractive optic theory, lasers, polarization, detectors and electro-optical devices. A working knowledge of an optical design SW such as Code V or Zemax is beneficial;
o Be able to interface with multidisciplinary groups and work effectively in a team;
o Be able to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation and on-the-job training;
CONTEXT of the POSITION
The Optical Modules Development Group in Wilton CT is seeking an entry level engineer/physicist with direct experience in optical engineering. The optical modules developed for ASML’s products will include sources, detectors, geometric/diffractive optics and electro-optic components. This position will require skills in optical engineering: specific to the optical lithography or semi-conductor industry.
