We have an opening for an Optical Instrumentation Engineer. You will support the operation, maintenance, and the enhancement of large optic metrology tools located at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and at the National Ignition Facility (NIF) optic vendor sites around the country.  You will be responsible for ensuring maximum productivity and data fidelity from a variety of laser-based optical metrology tools including 24” interferometers, photometers, phase measuring microscopes and automated optical microscopes. This position is in the Optical and Materials Science & Technology (OMST) organization of the NIF and Photon Science (NIF&PS) Directorate.
