Job Description: 

The candidate must have the follow qualifications:
• At least 2 years practical experience in a commercial,
public or academic laboratory.
• Proficiency in setup, use and alignment of optical
components and related test equipment.
• Proficiency with working safely with lasers. Certification
and/or references are a plus.
• Experienced in assembly of optical systems, including
handling and cleaning of optics, interpreting technical
documentation, describing optical system components
and assembly procedures.
• Use of electronics for device testing, including PC’s,
oscilloscopes, power supplies. Experience with
anti-static measures/procedures are also a plus.
• Have good written skills; be able to document
measurements and procedures.
• Must have basic computing skills including MS Office
PowerPoint, Excel & Word proficiency.
• Education:
B.S. degree or comparable with relevant technical
experience will be considered.
“Super-techs” with a minimum of 3 years practical
experience shall also be considered.
• Self-starting and approachable, enthusiastic but
practical in developing new technologies.
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. (U.S.
Citizen/Green Card holders only).
The preferred candidate shall have the following
• Candidates experienced in working with holographic or
diffractive optics will be of particular interest.
• Familiarity with LabView and/or automation hardware.

The primary responsibilities of the job include:
• Hands on metrication/evaluation of optical test and part
components including modules
• Build, test and debug of optical and final prototype
• Report writing, data extrapolation and documentation.
