Job Description:

The RF Fields Group at NIST in Boulder, CO is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with AMO physics experience to work on Rydberg atom-based RF field metrology.  This project uses spectroscopy of Rydberg atoms to detect RF fields – from absolute, SI-traceable measurements to communications signal reception. The desired candidate has either or both experimental and theoretical AMO experience. You will work with a small group to develop the experimental apparatus including laser and optical systems, and detection and control electronics, as well as conduct experiments, analyze results, and apply theoretical analysis to inform the experimental design. This lab combines experience in optical and atomic physics with RF equipment and electromagnetic theory.
