Job Description: 

Postdoctoral and Research Scientist positions are available in the Quantum Information Systems (QIS, group at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will contribute to multiple funded programs, including research in basic physics of ion trapping as well as the development of novel ion traps for use in quantum information processing and quantum-limited sensing. Candidates are to be U.S. citizens with excellent laboratory skills and a Ph.D. in atomic physics or a closely related field. Experience in atomic physics experiment is strongly preferred, including familiarity with diode lasers and ultra-high vacuum. For permanent positions, GTRI offers competitive compensation and job benefits. Postdoctoral compensation will be competitive with the NRC Research Associate Program postdoctoral fellowships. Postdoctoral positions are for a two-year term with a flexible start date, and are first available in January 2013.
