Job Description: 

Ruda-Cardinal is a leader in the field of optical engineering, specializing in rapid prototyping and complicated system development. Many optical engineering firms turn to Ruda-Cardinal when their optical problems prove especially challenging. We are currently looking for an experienced & motivated engineer to join our team.

Duties  & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with program management, supply chain management and internal resource allocation.
  • Provide training to lab personnel.
  • Hands on assembly, alignment, setup and testing of optical systems.
  • AS 9100 documentation generation and compliance. Developing assembly procedures & work instructions.
  • Work with both optical and opto-mechanical departments on implementation strategies.
  • Provide critical feedback during internal design reviews.

Skills  & Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering (Optical preferred) and min 4 years experience in related field.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership ability and able to work within a team.
  • Experience handling optics and sensitive lab equipment.
  • Highly organized (experience with AS 9100 quality management systems a plus but not required.)
  • Ability to keep schedules/deadlines for personnel and projects.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills for data tracking.  SOLIDWORKS, ZEMAX or Python skills a plus.
