Due to our continued growth, we have a great opportunity for an extraordinary candidate as a National Sales Specialist for Mitutoyo Optical products based out of our Aurora, IL HQ facility. As a Sales Specialist, your key responsibilities will include technical support of our customers, potential customers and distributors in addition to working with these groups to market and distribute our optical product line of microscopes, microscope lenses and profile projectors.

Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support via phone and email to customers and distributors.
2. Make sales calls to current and potential distributors to promote new products, check inventories, review promotional supplies, conduct sales meetings, conduct product knowledge sessions, and assist with problem resolution.
3. Make sales calls to end users alone or with distributor personnel to promote Mitutoyo America products.
4. Develop target accounts and specific product lines.
5. Perform demonstrations and instruction on products within territory as required.
6. Review personal and distributor performance of orders received, shipments, and product quantities. Take corrective action as necessary.
7. Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
8. Participate in Mitutoyo America and distributor trade shows.
9. Keep informed on Mitutoyo America products, market trends, and competitor activities.
10. Attend regional meetings and participate in sales training and product knowledge sessions as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: NATIONAL SALES MANAGER, DISTRIBUTED PRODUCTS

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Optics or Optical Science
• Strong technical background in microscopy
• Experience in selling through a distribution network as well as direct customer selling is a plus
• Regular inside and outside interaction with employees, distributors and customers in support of Mitutoyo microscopes, microscope lenses and profile projectors.
• Travel as required to assist with on-site demonstrations, and to provide product support and training to distributors and end users.
• Highly motivated and results-driven individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong MS Office Applications experience in EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook. CRM experience is a plus.
