Senior Scientist- Instrumentation Development | ChromoLogic

ChromoLogic is in need of a Senior Scientist- Instrumentation Development to help direct the design and development of diagnostic instrumentation for novel medical applications. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated, hands-on experience in building novel instruments that have been used towards biomedical applications. Optical subsystem integration experience coupled with manufacturing experience is highly desired. In addition, a well-developed toolkit of CAD, auto-collimator, interferometer, image analysis and optics alignment experience is highly desired. The successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to the development of high-impact biomedical solutions with a global foot-print in collaboration with physicians, biologists, physicists, chemists and regulatory experts.
Job Duties
- Lead as well as collaboratively participate in ongoing programs for the development of novel biomedical tools in areas such as biosensor development, ultra-sensitive detection of biomolecules and microfluidics
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to advance current research portfolio
- Prepare technical documents, such as publications, proposals, SOPs, and reports
- Lead the development of alignment and assembly processes for opto-mechanical instruments
Skills Requirements
- A PhD, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Physics, Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering or other related fields
- 3-5+ years of postdoctoral or industrial experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead others in designing and developing experiments, and analyzing and interpreting data
- Experience with physical optics analysis, optimization, tolerancing, eye modeling, magneto-optic sensors and image analysis is strongly desired
- Demonstrated ability to perform collaborative research in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent written and oral scientific communication skills
- Government contracts require the applicant to be a US Citizen (or US Permanent Resident)
