Job Description: 

Dr. Roger Angel’s Solar Lab at Steward Observatory is in search of an undergraduate student interested in working on a project developing revolutionary telescope technology.

Job Description:                                   

  • Assist in setting up and executing experiments.
  • Building and testing hardware
  • Qualifying telescope mirrors with high-tech metrology systems
  • Creating computer simulations
  • Various engineering and research related assignments and tasks
  • All training provided
  • Approximately 10 - 20 hours per week during the school year and potentially 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Flexible work hours!
  • $16.50/hr or class credit

Requirements: University of Arizona full time undergraduate student. Capable of job description. Able to work independently without direct supervision. Able to start January 15th or sooner.

Bonus Experience (not required!): Previous computational projects, LabVIEW, Computer Programming, Matlab, Circuit Design, CAD, Excel, Technical Writing, Online Research.
