OPTI 202R. Geometrical & Instrumental Optics II (3) I. Optical instruments, field and relay lenses, telescopes, microscopes, optical materials, achromatization, illumination, cameras, projectors. P, Opti 201R

Course Objectives: 

  1. Understand simple optical instruments including telescopes, microscopes and projectors.
  2. Understand the fundamentals of cameras and optical imaging systems.
  3. Be familiar with the properties of optical materials including dispersion and the methods of achromatization.
  4. Understand the basic principles of illumination optics.
  5. Understand the basic principles of  optical aberrations.
