Objectives:
- Understand simple optical instruments including telescopes,
microscopes and projectors.
- Understand the fundamentals of cameras and optical imaging systems.
- Be familiar with the properties of optical materials including
dispersion and the methods of achromatization.
- Understand the basic principles of illumination optics.
- Understand the basic principles of optical aberrations.
