The best way to contact the help desk is through this Website. First,
check this FAQ. If your question is
not answered here, submit a request for service at our
request page. The second preferred method of
contacting the help desk is by sending an email to
helpdesk@optics.arizona.edu.
Sending an email directly to a Technology Group Member is not recommended.
As our internal assignments and tasks change, you may not be addressing your
problem to the correct person. By sending your problem to the helpdesk
address we can route your issue to the proper person. This saves you delays
in getting your problem resolved.
If you are unable to browse the Web, or send email, you can call the help
desk at (520) 621-8838. If your call is answered by voice mail please leave
a detailed message. Don't forget to include the following information:

password)
For the 2 blank box:

For the 3 blank box:

Questions and answers specific to the new password policy:
Q: If I use both the OSC network and the University's how do these changes affect me? Does changing one password automatically change the other?
A: The 2 systems are not connected. Changing one in no way affects the other.
Q: How does one go about changing their password?
A: For Windows NT/2000/XP: Press 'Ctrl-Alt-Del'
while logged on to an OSC machine, click 'Change Password'.
For Windows 95/98/ME: Go to your control panel and double-click on the passwords icon. You can change your Microsoft Networking password there.
Q: Can I change my password early?
A: Yes.
From the TMG Policy and Procedures Manual:
Users leaving the OSC have up to 5 business days after their last day before
their mailbox and network account will be deleted. Users with a valid business
need may have a contact account set up which will forward mail from their OSC
email address to another address. Exceptions to this policy must be submitted
to the Dean's Office for approval. Exceptions to this policy will be
implemented by the TMG Manager. The amount of time may be shortened, or
accounts may be deleted or disabled immediately, for administrative or security
reasons.
