We are part of the Photonics and Lasers Group, which is chaired by Prof. N. Peyghambarian.

We do research in the fields of quantum electronics, ultra-fast lasers, and nonlinear optics. We are particularly interested in directions involving optical fiber technologies such as fiber lasers, fiber optical sensors, nonlinear effects and devices in waveguiding structures. The goal is to develop new advanced components and instruments that help enable new scientific discoveries and enhance education.

Current Research Interests:

  1. Ultrafast fiber lasers

  2. Nonlinear fiber optics

  3. Microresonators and applications

  4. Biomedical imaging based on supercontinuum and ultrafast fiber light sources

  5. New platform for all-optical switching

  6. Micromachining with femtosecond lasers

  7. Fiber optical sensors
