Nasser Peyghambarian
is Chair of Photonics and Lasers and of the Technology
and Research Incentive Funding
Committee, Optical Sciences Center, University of Arizona
(1994-present), Professor of Optical Sciences, and Professor
of Materials Science and Engineering (1991 – present).
He is the Director of two centers; Center for Optoelectronic
Devices, Interconnect and Packaging (COEDIP) and Technology
and Research Incentive Fund (TRIF), the author of the textbook
Introduction to Semiconductor Optics, Prentice-Hall, Inc.,
1993 and has produced over 300 scientific publications.
Dr. Peyghambarian has been invited to present at over 150
invited, tutorials or keynote speeches at international conferences.
He is currently the Chairman of the Board of a high technology
corporation. He has been awarded Fellow, Optical Society
of American, Fellow, American Physical Society, Fellow, American
Association of Advancement of Science, and recipient of the
Francquie Chair of Belguim. Research interests include optoelectronic
components, photonics devices, and nanofabrication technology.
