Journal Club Meeting
Date:

Location:
Meinel 307 Description:
Presenter:
Josh Follansbee
Title:
Imaging System Performance Modeling
Abstract:
Perhaps the best-known resolution metric for an optical system is the Rayleigh resolution criterion. This condition works well for point sources, but for those of us with extended sources closer than infinity, a better description of system performance is needed. We will interactively examine the main types of imaging tasks from a targeting perspective, the components of the imaging chain and their effects on performance, and the metrics used to accurately determine performance at range.

If you're interested in presenting at a future meeting just reach out to us via email! You are welcome to present on anything you find interesting. While we are called a "journal club" we would love to host any kind of academic content (not necessarily papers) from any discipline!
Finally, Journal Club will continue to have meetings throughout the summer. Those of you who are around and would like to attend in person, we will send details out soon about the time and location. If you are away over the summer feel free to join us remotely on Zoom!
