    Novel Imaging Sensors for the Air Force

     

    Abstract(s): 

    We present a new concept for application of the Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS) from a moving platform for the purpose of detecting moving targets in complex background clutter.  Our approach utilizes a hardware tracking and stabilization system integrated with the DVS to reduce the motion artifacts from the background clutter due to platform motion.  We use simulations to illustrate the proposed approach, quantify the sensor bandwidth reduction, and showcase its potential to improve the state of the art in target tracking applications.
