Sign Up for Shop Safety Course
Are you planning to work in the first-floor optics machine shop for the first time this semester? If so, you'll need some safety training.
Please email optomechanical engineer Todd Horne at hornet@optics.arizona.edu if interested; after receiving sufficient information, he'll work with students to choose the most convenient time for the mandatory course.
Disclosing Conflicts of Interest
A gentle reminder from the UA Office for the Responsible Conduct of Research for primary investigators: If you have not updated your conflict of interest form for the year, or if you've acquired a new significant financial interest in the last 30 days, please submit a disclosure form at your earliest opportunity.
Outdated forms will affect new awards as well as modifications to ongoing projects. If you have any questions about conflicts of interest at the University of Arizona, please contact Victoria Tugade at gibbinsv@email.arizona.edu or 520-626-8266.

Industrial Affiliates Updates
A Warm Welcome to Douglas Scientific
The College of Optical Sciences would like to welcome Douglas Scientific to its Industrial Affiliates program as an Associate Partner. Based in Alexandria, Minn., the biotech company designs and manufactures laboratory equipment that enables quicker, less expensive genetic and chemical screening for plant and animal genomics, human diagnostics, and pharmaceutical applications.
We hope our new friends to the north will be able to join us in the warm desert sun for the 2014 Spring Industrial Affiliates Workshop on March 3-5.
