    EASIS Optical Engineering Summer Camp

    The Center for Integrated Access Network (CIAN) is holding their annual Expect Academic Success in STEM (EASIS) Optical Engineering Summer Camp next month. In partnership with the Winslow Unified School District, the camp will be held June 13-17, offering 8-12 grade students the chance to learn more about optics and engineering through demonstrations, presentations by OSC graduate students and faculty, guided tours and a college preparation workshop.

    Two teams consisting of OSC graduate and undergraduate students were recently awarded numerous awards as part of the UA McGuire Center Pitch Contest and Perkins Coie Innovative Minds Challenge.

    Searching for Light with OPTI 424/524

    On Friday, May 6, students from OPTI 424A/524A gathered on the UA Mall outside the Meinel Building to find a bicycle light. Associate Research Professor Matthew Dubin had students break into teams and, using devices they designed and built, scan and find a bicycle LED within a 50' x 80' area.
