Fun CIAN Outreach Opportunities

    CIAN (Center for Integrated Access Networks) has a number of great event outreach opportunities for the remainder of 2017 and early 2018, and is looking for volunteers.

    Abbett Library Zooniverse Event

    • CIAN has a computer lab set up at the library to teach the students about Zooniverse, the citizen science initiative that takes real scientific data that needs to be analyzed, and lets anyone be part of the discovery!
    • Oct. 21, 2017 | 2-3 p.m.

    Gridley Middle School Science Night

    • Present interesting optics demos to middle school students.
    • Nov. 2, 2017 | 6-8 p.m.

    Abbett Library Star Party

    • CIAN is doing a star party at the library! There will also be the portable planetarium group giving tours of the night sky inside the library in their inflatable planetarium. 
    • Nov. 6, 2017 | 6-8 p.m.

    AZ STEM Adventure

    • A large event at Pima Community College for the whole community. Bring your best optics facts and get a child excited about the future of optics.

    • Nov. 17, 2017 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

    AIAA Kids Club Event

    • A mini-summer camp experience with exciting demonstrations and lab tours. Seeking volunteers for lab tours and for help with demonstrations.
    • Feb. 17, 2018 | 2-4 p.m.
