    Optical Sciences Outreach Opportunities

OSC Students: Learn how to get K-12 students excited about optical science and technology with Optics Outreach OPTI 489/589. Your participation may inspire young students to start thinking about getting a degree in Optical Engineering and pursue rewarding careers in many diverse fields involving optics.

In this course, you will sharpen your skills at giving presentations and demos in optics, contribute to our collection of optics outreach demos by improving existing ones, or develop something entirely new. Every week the class discusses exciting current topics in optical engineering such as solar energy, ground and space-based astronomical telescopes, 3-D movie technology and medical optics.

And score! You will also get a free Optical Sciences polo shirt!

Register for the course in UAccess Student Center. The Fall semester course is on Thursdays from 8–8:50 a.m., in Meinel 422. Please note that OPTI 489A/589A sections will be discontinued. If you're interested in the course, ensure you register in section 001 of OPTI 489 or 589.
