Judy Su Awarded NIH R35 Outstanding Investigator Award
Date Posted:
Wednesday, August 26, 2020 Congratulations to OSC Assistant Professor Judy Su and team on the recent NIH R35 MIRA Grant Award for the project, "Label-free single molecule detection for basic science and translational medicine." The award is for $1,822,950 for 5 years. Su and her team have developed a label-free biological and chemical sensing system known as a frequency locked optical whispering evanescent resonator (FLOWER). If successful, this project would allow for a robust, extremely sensitive, and portable device that could be given to an EMT, solider, or citizen allowing them to rapidly detect diseases or viruses and bacteria in drinking water or food.
