There have been a few staff changes within the Academic Programs office lately, and all of us at OSC wish to welcome our new team members, congratulate a promotion and wish a happy retirement to a long-time staff member.

    Retiring

Kevin Erwin was the College's Teaching Lab Coordinator, who retired May 1 after 30 years of great work. All of us at OSC wish to thank Kevin for his amazing service to the College.

    Staff Changes

We would like to congratulate Mark Rodriguez, who has been promoted to Manager, Academic Programs Finance & Operations. Mark took on the role in addition to his existing duties from Amanda Ferraris, who accepted a position with the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. He has moved to Meinel 412. Please stop by to congratulate Mark on this exciting new role.

Melissa Ayala has moved into Mark's old office and is now in Meinel 403B.

    New Staff

All of us would like to welcome Lindsay Loebig and Hillary Mathis to the OSC team.

    Hillary Mathis, Laboratory ManagerHillary Mathis

Hillary has been hired as Manager, Instructional Laboratories, replacing the retired Kevin Erwin, and you can find her in Meinel 434. She spent the last two years with Breault Research; and before that, 15 years with NOAO, working mostly on Kitt Peak.

She says, "I came to AZ from San Francisco via Seattle and the University of Washington. I mountain bike recreationally and race, camp, play softball and watch baseball. We are season ticket holders to UofA baseball. I try to put more miles on my bikes than my car every year. Its usually pretty close. We have a nine year old rescue dog and best we can tell she is a dalmatian, lab, pit mix."

    OSC - Lindsay LoebigLindsay Loebig

Lindsay comes to us from the UA International Recruitment and Outreach department, and has been brought on-board as Senior Academic Advisor. You can find Lindsay in the Academic Programs office, Meinel 403D. She is a Tucson native, with a B.S. from the University of Arizona, and a M.S. from Northern Arizona University.

Lindsay says, "I have been to 61 countries and to every continent except Antarctica (…one day). To remember my trips, I collect a fridge magnet from each country I visit. For fun, I like to play soccer, paint, do photography and figure out my next travel destination. (I’m thinking Latvia and Lithuania might be next on the list)."

Please welcome our new staff... we're glad to have you here at Optical Sciences!
