OSC Alumnus Announces New Medical Optics Tool

    OSC alumnus, Sean McCafferty, MD FACS, Intuor Technologies CEO and President, recently announced that the FDA cleared their CATS Tonometer™ Reusable Prism for marketing and sales in the United States. According to the announcement, "Intuor plans to file future CATS Tonometer ™ Prism FDA and CE Mark submissions for a disposable version and expanded claims. “Based on numerous scientific studies, the CATS Tonometer Prism ™ has the potential to greatly enhance clinical care through a reduction in errors related to intraocular eye pressure (IOP) measurements,” stated Sean McCafferty, MD FACS, Intuor Technologies CEO and President."

    Sean McCafferty graduated from the College of Optical Sciences with his M.S. in Optical Sciences in 2015 and received the 2017 Alumnus of the Year in Optical Sciences award for his work and contributions to the optics and medical fields.
