OSC Alumnus, Inaugural Bernard J. Couillaud Prize Winner

    David Carlson, OSC alumnus who received his Ph.D. in 2016, is the inaugural Bernard J. Couillaud Prize winner. Carlson is now a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He received the award at CLEO: Laser Science to Photonic Applications, San Jose, Calif., U.S.A, 5-10 May 2019. Carlson's winning proposal concerns development of the material tantala (Ta2O5) as a platform for nonlinear integrated photonics technology. Congratulations, David!
