Congratulations are in order for OSC Alumnus, John R. Rogers, who received the 2020 SPIE Rudolf and Hilda Kingslake Award in Optical Design. Rogers received his Ph.D. from the Wyant College of Optical Sciences in 1983. "The SPIE Rudolf and Hilda Kingslake Award in Optical Design is presented in recognition of significant achievement in the field of optical design, including the theoretical or experimental aspects of optical engineering," states SPIE. Rogers' receipt of the award recognizes the lifetime of dedication he has paid to optical design, and for outstanding service he has given to optics communities. Additionally, the award is in part due to his contributions to the theory of non-axially symmetric systems, tolerancing of optical systems, and to imaging systems. Read more from SPIE here.
