    OSC and CIAN REU Programs

Continuing the success of the summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programs, both OSC and CIAN hosted students for 10 weeks, where they worked on unique and exciting research projects.

For the second year, the College of Optical Sciences held their summer Research in Optics (RiO) REU program, where 10 undergraduate students from universities spanning the U.S. engaged in world-class optical science research and learned much about the application of optics. During the program, each student presented their work, showcased their research at a poster session, completed a GRE preparation course and took the GRE exam.

On a similar note, CIAN also held their third-annual Integrated Optics for Undergraduate Native Americans (IOU-NA) REU program, which hosted seven Native American students from three different tribes. These students worked in labs and ended the program with a poster session and oral presentation to the university campus.

For more on these programs, see the official OSC RiO results page and photo gallery, as well as the CIAN blog recap.
