RSG Sees Sensor to Space
Date Posted:
Thursday, February 7, 2013 On Feb. 11, an optical sensor created by the Remote Sensing Group will head to orbit on the Operational Land Imager, as part of the Landsat Data Continuity Mission. The RSG team will attend the launch, held at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, Calif., and everyone is welcome to join in the launch party, thanks to streaming video provided by NASA TV.
The radiometers described in last month's Applied Optics cover article will be used to calibrate the imager once in orbit.
