Sawyer Receives Multiple Scholarships

    Travis Sawyer, OSC Ph.D. student, has received three number of prestigious rewards in the last few months from SPIE, OSA, and ASLMS. 

    2019 ASLMS Research Grant Recipient - Nominated by Jennifer Barton for his project "Combined Optical Coherence Tomography and Autofluorescence Imaging for Screening of Early-stage Esophageal Cancer."

    2019 Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship Recipient - Sawyer was selected for the award based on his potential contributions to the field of optics, photonics, or a related field.

    2019 Paul Anthony Bonenfant Memorial Scholarship Recipient - Announced in the OSA Newsleter, "As the recipient, Travis will receive $8,000 towards his study abroad experience at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. His research project there will involve developing and testing a clinical, miniaturized, endoscope that combines fluorescence lifetime imaging and optical coherence tomography."
