    Paul Anthony Bonenfant Memorial Scholarship:

    Established in 2011 in memory of Paul Anthony Bonenfant, this $8,000 scholarship enables students enrolled in engineering and/or physical science programs to attend semester-abroad programs. The goal of the scholarship is to provide international experience to students as they prepare for professional lives that promote global engagement and collaboration.

    • Open to undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S.
    • Applicants must show a demonstrated interest in optics related research and applications
    • Applicants must plan to participate in a study-abroad program of at least 6 week’s duration

    Jack Jewell Endowed Research Award for Extreme Optics

    The award will be given to a graduating Ph.D. student whose work best illustrates a passion for exceeding current “limitations” (i.e. nontraditional thinking and/or advancing the limits of thinking in their research) of optical technology in any subfield. The recipient’s lab/research achievements should demonstrate promising advancements for innovative applications of optics.

    • Ph.D. student in College of Optical Sciences
    • Graduating in May or December 2019
