Thompson, Ph.D. 1980, Wins Conrady Award

Thursday, March 14, 2013 Alumnus Kevin P. Thompson, currently the director of the optical research and development group at Optical Research Associates (part of Synopsis Inc.), has been named the 2013 recipient of SPIE's A.E. Conrady Award, which is given annually to an outstanding contributor in the field of optical systems and instrumentation. The Conrady Award, which recognizes "developments of new equipment, techniques and applications for designing, testing, analyzing and/or evaluating optical systems, components and theories," per the SPIE website, has also been bestowed upon OSC faculty members Roland V. Shack (1998), Virendra N. Mahajan (2006) and Adolf W. Lohmann (2008).
