    Can we control nature? That's the question asked by the Weather Channel's new series "Hacking the Planet," which explores the ways in which humanity might try to consciously steer climatic occurrences.

    Next Thursday, March 14, at 8 p.m., the subject is simply shocking — and one of the experts they consult is our own Associate Research Professor Pavel Polynkin, who demonstrates how lasers may be able to guide lightning.
