2009 Optics Summer Camp

During the week of June 8-12, 19 high school students spent their afternoons with us. Our lighthearted curriculum included discussions, experiments, and demonstrations of lenses, color, vision, light sources (including a Claussen's kosher pickle), reflections, diffractive optics, cameras, a contest involving mirrors, and field trips to our optics shop, our quantum nano-optics lab and UA's famed mirror lab.

The week concluded with a combination pizza party, awards ceremony and solar telescope viewing for campers and their families.
