Optical Research Engineer | CFD Research Corporation
CFD Research Corporation is seeking a highly qualified Optical Research Engineer supporting the Advanced Optics group. As an Optical Research Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our research efforts focused on designing and characterizing nanostructured optical materials for advanced imaging systems. The candidate should have a strong technical background, as well as a desire to develop and commercialize innovative technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of experts, engage in groundbreaking research projects, and contribute to the advancement of a new generation of imaging devices.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Strong background in optical system design, Fourier optics, and optical materials
• Proficiency in optical modeling tools such as Zemax, CODE V, or similar
• Experience conducting optical experiments (e.g., optical alignment, imaging system characterization, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills
• A passion for innovation and a drive to contribute to cutting-edge research
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
