For Current IA Partners
The Industrial Affiliates program offers a number of opportunities for our members, including private access to student résumés, hosting info sessions at the college, speaking at student meetings and participating in our popular and well-attended spring and fall Industrial Affiliates Workshops. Interested in collaborating with the college's world-class faculty? Check out their research specialties and lab descriptions, and then drop them a line.
View Student Résumés
Industrial Affiliate partners are offered a private access code to review our student's impressive résumés. Log in to view the current résumés, and then call to set up an information session and interview time.
Industrial Affiliate Workshops
Twice a year, the College hosts a three-day spring and fall workshops, which include a corporate showcase (a recruiting expo attended by UA optics and engineering students), student and faculty research presentations, laboratory tours and networking opportunities for informal discussions with students and faculty. Many IA partners extend their visit by scheduling interviews with students ready to enter the workforce. Being an active IA partner is an incredibly strong step towards finding talent both now and in the future.
Practical Optics Workshops
In an effort to fill the gap between scientific understanding and practical skill sets, we have developed an ongoing series of workshops geared toward developing hands-on experience for both optical engineering students and those already in the workforce.
M.S. in Optical Sciences Industrial Track Project Proposal
The M.S. Industrial Track program combines OSC's traditional M.S. program with the real-world, industrial experience in a laboratory setting. Accepted students will be placed into a credit-bearing, second year, paid position with YOUR company. If you're a current IA member, you may use this Project Proposal form to be part of this cutting-edge program.
Industry Access Program
Every fall, we offer a series of four on-campus educational seminars on applied optical design and theory to our current students. For a fee, our Industrial Affiliates members can access these seminars via our distance learning platform on a noncredit basis via our new Industry Access Program.
Recruitment Best Practices
Looking to recruit an OSC student? In order to assist you most effectively, we would like to share our recruitment best practices with you.
Senior Capstone Projects
OSC bachelor's degree students take two semesters of Interdisciplinary Engineering Design Program, in which they work in cross-disciplinary teams to solve industry-sponsored real-world design problems. If you're interested in mentoring or sponsoring a team, please contact Kaye Rowan.
