Our Service Operations team is a diverse group of technical professionals who engage with the broadest range of customers. If you have a passion for providing best-in-class technical support and a great customer experience, we invite you to join us as a Field Service Engineer, supporting our Laser diode test stations and Motion control customers in the North America and International regions.

What you will do is:

  • Provide field support for our ILX and Newport Motion systems.  You may be in the field to install a new system or provide maintenance service, or use your troubleshooting abilities for repair
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal sales and application teams and have opportunities to participate in customer meetings
  • Respond to technical questions from our customers regarding system repairs and applications
  • Stay current with the latest features and upgrades and training of new products and software
  • Maintain historical performance and repair information and document field service reports

In addition to your enthusiasm, you will bring to the team your:

  • BS degree in EE / EET; Associates in Electronics related fields may be considered
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with new electrical, mechanical test systems
  • Experience with Electronics, Diodes and Motion theory (highly desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with PC skills including MS Office, SAP and data analysis applications
  • Opto-mechanical and automated manufacturing systems experience (a plus)
