The ManufacturingOperations in Wilton Connecticut is responsible for the production of subassemblies for lithography tools as well as purchasing andlogistics. The complete production process of the most advanced machines takes place within Manufacturing.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands mayrequire ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
 
Role and responsibilities
Realize 'World Class' support to Manufacturing in order to ensure highest product quality, short lead-times and 'short time-to-market' bycontinuous improvement of ASML's new and existing products and processes.
  • Evaluate metrology data to ensure product specifications are being met and determine corrective action if needed.
  • Work with optical flatness team to evaluate and lead cross sector escalations.
  • Support in-production issues with concise troubleshooting of a complex Opto-Mechanical assembly.
  • Update and create Manufacturing procedures and specifications.
  • Work with technicians to update/improve existing production tooling & qualification tests.
  • Work with electrical and mechanical engineering staff to improve overall assembly design.
  • Develop assembly concepts for new product design.
  • Review Failure Analysis Reports from suppliers and help validate the root-cause of the failure.
Education and experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Optical discipline (Engineering in a mechanical or Physics also OK), or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Interferometry.
  • Familiarity with epoxy application in opto-mechanical designs.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience w/optical assy/alignment/test equipment/tools.
  • Experience with vacuum systems and pneumatics preferred.
  • Experience and desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge in applied optics/physics and familiarity w/precision mechanics.
  • Understanding of relationships between opto-mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments and Statistical Methods.
  • Working knowledge of NX, Matlab and SAP a plus.
  • Working knowledge of best practices for opto-mechanical design and testing.
  • Experience with aligning/testing optical systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entireduration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger,handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability toadjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule – twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.
  • This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.
