We are seeking an Optics Engineer Intern for our Broomfield, CO location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and test laser Beam Delivery and Imaging optics for current and next generation Quantum Computer
  • Explore integrated photonics ideas for next generation Beam Delivery 
  • Develop Zemax designs for imaging systems
  • Perform performance analysis and comparison of different approaches/designs with respect to key figures of merit.
  • Collaborate with the larger Opto-Mechanical team and provide creative solutions.  

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Currently has or in the process of obtaining a MS or PhD degree in the fields of Physics, Optical Science, or Electrical Engineering,
  • Experience with theoretical and practical aspects of imaging and laser optics, including micro-optics
  • Experience with scientific programming languages or optical simulation tools such as Matlab, Python, COMSOL, or similar
  • Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Applicants for employment for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Honeywell. (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)

WE VALUE: 

  • Experience with optical design programs such as Code V, Zemax, Lighttools, FRED, or similar.
  • Experience with Mechanical design programs such as Solid Works
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications
  • Commitment to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op 

Compensation:

Salary Range: $19.00/hr. - $26.00/hr.
