Senior Optical Engineer | Compound Photonics

Purpose of the Role:

Compound Photonics seeks a Senior Optical Engineer to help lead the definition and development of complex, state-of-the-art display systems for AR/MR applications.  In addition, the successful candidate will facilitate the integration of CP displays into customer products by providing applications support and reference designs.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Support customer incorporation of CP display systems
• Supply feedback on display system performance
• Offer insight into display industry trends
• Perform detailed optical design of display products and test systems
• Develop advanced phase-only display algorithms
• Lead cross functional systems engineering meetings
• Advance display characterization methodology

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

• BS in Optical Engineering or related field
• Optical system design (sequential & non-sequential)
• Computational optics
• Scientific programming (MATLAB, Python, etc.)
• Ability to work independently with close attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:

• MS or PhD in Optical Sciences or related field
• Near-eye displays
• Computer Generated Holograms (CGHs)
• Basic electronics
• Opto-mechanics
• Liquid-Crystal-on-Silicon (LCoS) microdisplays
